For over 40 years, David has represented clients in lawsuits all over the country, in business transactions, and in matters with state agencies.
David started his legal career in the Tennessee State Attorney General’s Office, tried well over 50 cases as a Union County, New Jersey, assistant prosecutor, and was a name partner in a New Jersey law firm before joining the firm in 2007.
David’s clients include businesses, which he represents in commercial litigation, contract negotiation and drafting, and as outside general counsel. David represents several insurance companies in policy coverage litigation, investigation of insurance fraud, commercial disputes and matters before state boards of insurance, and advises these companies about and helps them draft policy terms. He represents national health club chains in commercial disputes, personal injury and property damage cases and matters before state departments and agencies, and drafts their contracts.
David also represents attorneys, physicians, accountants, architects, engineers, and other professionals in malpractice lawsuits; parties to construction accident and construction defect litigation; parties to patent, trademark and copyright infringement and intellectual property litigation; operators of activity parks, stables and other recreational facilities; operators of maritime fleets; employers in workplace discrimination and employment matters; and sellers and manufacturers in product liability matters.
He has lectured to design and insurance industry professionals on architect-engineer malpractice, construction defect claims, and on minimizing professional liability exposure; to owners/operators of recreational facilities on how to reduce liability exposure; and has written articles for insurance, maritime and construction industry publications and legal journals. He is admitted to the roster of mediators of the New Jersey Superior Court Civil Mediation Program and served for several years as a court-appointed mediator.
David is an active supporter of Vanderbilt University, from which he received his bachelor’s and law degrees. In law school, he was invited, following a writing competition, to join the editorial staff of the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law, one of the world’s most prominent and widely cited legal journals devoted to current and emerging issues of comparative and international law, and served as an associate editor. He is the former president of the New Jersey Vanderbilt Club, has been a presenter at receptions for prospective students, and interviews applicants to the law school and undergraduate colleges. David served for several years as a member of the board of Freedom House, a not-for-profit that operates residential and outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs.
