Louise is a partner in our Scottish liability team. She qualified in 2008 and joined Kennedys in 2017. She is based in the Edinburgh office.
Louise has over 16 years’ experience defending and pursuing wide-ranging personal injury cases, including sensitive and complex employers’ liability, motor, motor crime, public liability, property damage, regulatory/HSE cases and fatal accident inquiries. She advises insurer and self-insured clients and has an extensive understanding of the insurance market and potential reputational issues, as well as legal issues for insureds across many different sectors for example motor, motor crime, construction and transportation.
Louise is regularly instructed to provide criminal representation to professional and lay drivers following serious injury and fatal collisions. As well as to Companies and their Directors facing HSE investigation and criminal prosecution.
Leading the fraud practice in Scotland, Louise advises on motor, property, EL/PL and beauty fraud, collaborating with key players in the counter fraud market both north and south of the border.
She was one of the first solicitors in Scotland to run a Court of Session proof arguing that the case should be dismissed on the grounds of fundamental dishonesty. Louise also works closely with the fellow Celtic jurisdictions identifying and combatting challenges faced in the smaller jurisdictions, as well as collaborating and delivering webinars on a global scale.
Louise is a Notary Public, member of the FOIL Scotland Fraud SFT and of the Health and Safety Lawyers’ Association. She has completed the Kennedys’ Future Leaders’ Programme and is a co-author of the Scotland chapter within Kennedys’ Claims Handling Law and Practice Guide, the fourth edition of which was published in February 2021.
Louise also contributed to the Claims inflation and personal injury claims: a global review report, published in June 2023.
She delivers regular webinars and client training on a variety of topical subjects.

- Graduated in 2005 (LLB) and 2006 (Diploma in Professional Legal Practice from Aberdeen University
