Eduardo Emanuel Ruiz Sánchez is a Senior Associate in our Mexico City office, qualified to practice in Mexico. He got his Law Degree from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and has several studies in comparative Law in Latin America. Eduardo also holds a degree in oral trials of civil and commercial law.

His focus is on litigation and defence of (re)insurance companies, on (re)insurance and surety matters. He works closely with the Litigation partner to analyse and advise the clients on any development that could arise during litigation. He specializes in Aviation, Financial Institutions, Fraud, Energy, Life and Health, Insurance and Reinsurance, Property Damage, amongst others.

One of his clients defines him as “one of the sharpest lawyers in the litigation of insurance and reinsurance. He always keeps close attention to every case”.  

Work highlights

  • Advised and assisted in the defense on behalf of (re)insurers, on a lawsuit arising from a strike in a mine in Mexico.
  • Advised on a high value case analyzing the responsibility of officers of a Mexican Governmental Company, including the actions of a former Mexican President, winning the case on behalf of our client.
  • Assisted on the strategy and defense on a case where the claim value was 20% of the of the client’s total net worth. The Mexican court ruled that our client was not responsible of any payment.
  • Currently handling a female homicide case with several law enforcement issues involved that caused a Federal Liability.
