We have appointed a catastrophic injury lawyer with more than 20 years’ experience acting for motor insurers and corporates.
Legal director Lorien Helm specialises in catastrophic cases where there has been a fatality or serious injury, such as paralysis, amputation, brain damage, chronic pain or psychiatric injury.
Prior to joining Kennedys in Manchester, Lorien was at Plexus Law where she was a partner since 2014, working with big name corporates and insurers on complex and high-value cases as well as handling indemnity and liability disputes.
Our Manchester office is based in Trinity on John Dalton Street in the city centre, premises we moved to in 2021 to accommodate our growing team.
Ian Davies, partner, says: “Lorien is well-known in the sector as an outstanding lawyer and a tough litigator who goes the extra mile for her clients – the ethos on which Kennedys is built.
“I know the vast knowledge and experience she brings will really benefit our motor clients in Manchester and beyond as demand for our services continues to grow.”
Lorien adds: “The talented team at Kennedys has long been regarded as a market leader and I am excited to channel my passion and commitment to excellence to cement that reputation still further.”
Lorien’s appointment follows the acquisition of a nine-strong team from Plexus Law, strengthening our UK-wide liability practice with key hires in London, Leeds and Newcastle.
“Our growth story of working with the best of breed legal teams continues with the appointment of Lorien in Manchester, and we know that our clients will be equally thrilled to have her onboard,” says Claire Mulligan, head of Kennedys’ liability defence arm in the UK.
We also recently announced another record set of financial results, which saw record revenue of £313m for 2022/23, an 11% increase on the previous year.
