Bob is a consultant based in our Birmingham office. He joined the firm in 2015. He qualified as CILEx Fellow in England and Wales in 1994. Bob’s clients include insurers and self-insured corporate entities.

He has extensive experience advising on employers’ and public liability claims, with a specialist focus on motor related claims.

Bob is experienced in dealing with complex catastrophic injury claims, specialising in head and spinal injuries and sports injury.

He has specific expertise in chronic pain cases, ranging from complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), somatoform disorders to fibromyalgia.

He is a regular presenter and experienced in helping insurers streamline processes for the Ministry of Justice, fast and multi-track claims teams. Due to his past claimant experience, Bob is able to assist on claimant thinking strategies for insurers.

  • Bob successfully defended a Part 20 claim for £2m for a steel erection company against the main contractor and sub-contractor who erected defective fencing causing serious brain injury.
  • Managed a case involving a claimant with complex regional pain syndrome of all four limbs following a road traffic accident, valued at £2.4m.
  • Settled a £1m case involving a female claimant with somatoform disorder for £150,000, following helpful surveillance.
  • Managed a case against a director seeking indemnity under his own household and his company’s employers’ liability policies for negligent injury to an employee, valued at £2.5m.
