Shain is a partner in the Los Angeles office. She concentrates her practice on civil litigation in federal and state court. She has litigated coverage and bad faith, commercial disputes, product liability, premise liability, D&O including broker liability, marine, employment including wrongful termination and discrimination claims, construction and habitability claims. Shain also handles personal injury matters involving catastrophic injuries, emotional injuries, brain damage and wrongful death.
In addition, Shain has significant and extensive experience advising insurance carrier clients on complex coverage issues and developing strategies for resolution. She also assists clients with monitoring complex multi-district litigation.
As a seasoned litigator, Shain works closely with clients and opposing counsel in order to reach an outcome that is best for all parties. With thorough preparation and aggressive strategies, Shain has developed a winning strategy often leading to early settlements. She also has experience effectively handling arbitrations and jury trials.

Work highlights
- Successfully defended a first-time oil and gas investor against serious fraud claims. After a seven-day trial (and a brief three-hour jury deliberation) a unanimous verdict was returned in favor of the defendant.
