Safine is Kennedys' Sustainability and ESG Global product group head and a Partner in the Paris office who leads the regulatory and compliance in insurance and environmental law practice.

She has extensive expertise in compliance matters, contract management, including complex regulatory issues, authorisations and cross-border matters for insurance sector, and for corporate and commercial clients.

Safine regularly advises clients on the application of the developing ESG regulatory framework, including ESG reporting obligations, ESG compliance and corporate due diligence duties, climate related issues and climate finance. She helps clients to mitigate their ESG regulatory risks through wordings and other draft contract clauses to protect against default by co-contractors and sanctions by regulators.

Safine advises players in the insurance sector (insurers, reinsurers, brokers, and other intermediaries, mutuals, Insurtechs) on their products and services, contractual matters (distribution and commercial arrangements, outsourcing agreements, product terms and governance, transformation projects…), as well as compliance issues (including relations with national and international authorities), and integrating recent regulatory developments into marketing processes.

Safine also assists industrial clients in their environmental regulatory issues, including government relations and day-to-day business management, as well as civil, administrative or criminal litigation.

She is a lecturer at the University of Aix-Marseille within the Master 2 Environnement Sécurité Qualité programme, and teaches a course on insurance and environmental risks at the Paris Insurance Institute of Dauphine University.

Additionally, Safine runs training courses on insurance law and compliance, and also on environmental risk management, for professional associations, The Flit Network and for The Institute of International Transport Law, as well as for professional training organisations, Abilways and Lefevre Dalloz.

She is a member of The Association Internationale du Droit des Assurances (AIDA), the Young AIDA, The Association des Anciens élèves de l'Institut d'Assurance de Paris (ADIAP) and The Association pour le Management des Risques et des Assurances de l'Entreprise (AMRAE).

Safine is a regular contributor to specialist publications, and she speaks French, English, Spanish and Arabic.

Safine contributed to the writing of Kennedys' 'Global forecast 2024: Evolving insurance risks' report, published in January 2024.

  • Advising of a major operator on Datas and new techs industry about its regulatory statute : analysis and control of regulatory obligations, including reporting to the regulator ACPR.
  • Advising and representing an insurer and its wholesale broker in disputes with its local broker related to the termination of the partnership.

  • Advising and representing a major industrial company in all its relationships with the environmental regulator and its co-contractors and particularly its owner, in the context of an installation classified for environmental protection.
  • Advising and representing a transport company specialised in automated vehicles development, in disputes with its sub-contractors related to potential defects.
