Peter is a Special Counsel with 10 years’ experience, gained in Australia and the UK, practising in insurance and commercial law. He has specialist expertise in shipping and aviation law and a complementary practice in professional indemnity and liability insurance, particularly public and products liability. His expertise extends to drafting bespoke policy wordings for major insurers and commercial agreements for their Insureds.
Peter advises on coverage disputes, acts as defence counsel, pursues recoveries and provides advice on commercial contract and insurance product development. He has acted in complex cross-border court litigations and arbitrations across various jurisdictions.
Peter acts for Australian, Lloyd’s, London and overseas market (re)insurers, freight forwarders, NVOCCs, and other logistics companies, major airlines, hull, liability and cargo insurers, and their insureds, including large haulage companies, and FMCG and perishable food import/export companies. As a registered interpreter, Peter is the first point of call for clients with claims involving a LATAM aspect or in Spanish speaking countries.
He has been published in ‘Insurance Day’, and in ‘Lloyd’s List Australia’, and is a regular presenter at industry events on emerging issues such as cyber-risks in the transportation sector.
Peter is a member of Young Shipping Australia (YSA) and the Aviation Law Association of Australia & New Zealand (ALAANZ) and is a board member of The Maritime Law Association of Australia and New Zealand (NSW) (MLAANZ) and the Sydney Marine Discussion Group (SMDG).
