Amrinder is an associate based in Kennedys’ London office. Amrinder is also a solicitor advocate and is able to practice advocacy in the civil courts of England and Wales.

Amrinder advises the private and public sector regarding the resolution of commercial contract disputes with a particular focus on construction disputes and management of risk. Amrinder has experience working in various sectors which involve an international element including; energy, rail, oil and gas, real estate, infrastructure, telecommunications, hospitality, entertainment, marine, education, automotive and health.

Amrinder has experience acting on construction projects which involve issues such as delay, extension of time, payment applications, termination, loss and expense assessments and defective works and services.

Between 2023 - 2024, Amrinder was seconded to work for a leading multi-disciplinary construction, mechanical and engineering company which operates in numerous sectors including energy, oil and gas, infrastructure and telecommunications.

Work highlights

  • Representing a design consultant in relation to a payment, variation and termination dispute against a design contractor in respect of design services under multiple contracts regarding a residential and commercial district development project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  
  • Representing a subcontractor in Dispute Adjudication Board proceedings and in ICC arbitration proceedings in a claim for extension of time and loss and expense against a contractor related to a biomass energy centre in Scotland.
  • Representing a contractor in adjudication proceedings in relation to claims for delay and extension of time against a global Japanese energy company related to the world’s largest offshore wind farm project in the UK.
  • Representing a mechanical and engineering subcontractor in relation to specialist works at a gas processing plant, air separation plant and oil and gas plant in Scotland in respect of a payment dispute under various contracts.
  • Representing a mechanical and engineering contractor in a payment dispute in a project related to the installation of a HVAC system at a nuclear power station in the UK.
  • Representing a mechanical and engineering company in relation to defending Part 8 Technology and Construction Court proceedings in the UK seeking a declaration on the interpretation of loss and expense provisions under a construction contract.
  • Representing a Dutch architect firm in relation to a claim for payment against a UK government authority related to a residential redevelopment project.
  • Representing a mechanical and engineering subcontractor in relation to a payment dispute with a contractor related to two water treatment plants in the UK.
