Matt focuses his practice on representing businesses in commercial litigation, corporate transactions, and employment matters. He also advises investment advisors with a variety of regulatory, compliance, and transactional issues.
Prior to joining Kennedys, Matt spent almost a decade representing businesses in a broad range of commercial litigation and corporate transactional matters. Matt was general counsel to a SEC-registered mutual fund investment advisor, where he managed all legal and regulatory aspects for the company. With his experience as both in-house and outside counsel to businesses, Matt has gained invaluable experience from the “client’s view,” where the importance of clear communication and effective collaboration between a business and its counsel is paramount.
During law school, Matt served as a judicial intern for the Honorable M. Jane Brady of the Delaware Superior Court. He was also a member of the National Environmental Law Moot Court Team and served on the University of Baltimore School of Law Moot Court Executive Board. After graduating from law school, Matt served as Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Mickey J. Norman of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County, Maryland.
