Erik is a partner in the New York office and has extensive insurance defense experience in matters involving New York Labor Law, premises liability, property damage and subrogation claims.
He deals extensively with product liability and automobile litigation, as well as, insurance coverage concerns relating to uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage and no-fault law, and he has arbitrated on panels for uninsured and underinsured motorist claims. Erik’s clients in the construction business benefit from his years of experience providing business counselling on construction contracts and commercial disputes between owners, contractors and sub-contractors, as well as defending malpractice claims against architects and engineers.
Erik has been asked to speak to institutional audiences on a variety of topics including the New York Labor Law, SUM/Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Claims and No-Fault/Personal Injury Protection Benefits. He was a speaker at a CLE Seminar, ‘What New Jersey attorneys need to know about New York practice’, and has lectured for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
He is a graduate of Seton Hall Law School, where he was co-organizer and sponsor of the Health Law Forum, and a Member of Irish-American Law Student Association (IALSA).

Work highlights
- Represented general contractor in NY Labor Law Section 240(1) where owner paid $2 million to settle case. Successfully defended contractual indemnity claim and did not contribute towards settlement.
- Represented owner, tenant and general contractor in NY Labor Law personal injury action that settled for $4.4 million. Obtained summary judgment on contractual indemnity claims, did not contribute towards the settlement and recouped attorneys’ fees.
- Represented general contractor in NY Labor Law personal injury action that settled for $3.115 million. Obtained summary judgment on contractual indemnity claims, did not contribute towards the settlement and recouped attorneys’ fees.
- Represented a hospital in personal injury premises case that went to trial on damages only. Following two days of trial, successfully obtained a favorable resolution and settlement at 1/3 of the demand at the start of trial.
- Represented electrical contractor in breach of contract claim and obtained settlement amount for client in the amount of $1,545,335.00 following filing of dispositive motions.
