Judith is a partner in our disease team in Manchester. She qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and became a partner in 2004.

Judith specialises in disease litigation work for large insurers, TPAs, public bodies as well as corporate clients. Her experience spans a broad range of cases including all long-tail asbestos related diseases as well as a variety of short-tail matters including respiratory conditions, diesel fume exposure/asthma and toxic exposure/dermatitis claims.

Judith has a particular interest and specialism in psychiatric injury cases especially those involving allegations of stress, bullying and harassment and has successfully defended many of these cases to trial.

Notable successes include a number of high value claims for stress, bullying and harassment brought by a range of professionals including veterinary surgeons, lawyers, insurers and manual trades. These are complex, sensitive cases often involving multi-disciplinary issues such as concurrent employment claims. She has also successfully defended many asbestos-related cases achieving significant savings to insurers and insured alike.

Another area of specialism is in the field robbery cases in the retail and gaming sector, including the successful Court of Appeal case of Nicholls v Ladbrokes.

Judith regularly provides bespoke and cross-discipline training sessions to clients as well as providing an insight into future trends.
