Profile

Wilson co-leads Kennedys Liability Defence Team in Hong Kong, and is qualified in Hong Kong (2007).  He focuses on liability disputes and has extensive experience in acting for a range of domestic and international clients including insurers and reinsurers, loss adjustors, listed companies, private clubs, hotels, private schools, airlines, airports and aircraft manufacturers.

Wilson also has experience handling claims arising from catastrophic accidents with tetraplegic and paraplegic claimants, high profile sporting accidents, school bullying and various property damage claims.  He also advises on complicated insurance policy issues. 

Wilson is a mediator accredited under both The Law Society of Hong Kong and HKMAAL, and regularly holds seminars to share his thought leadership on issues related to his practice.

Wilson also contributed to the Claims inflation and personal injury claims: a global review report, published in June 2023.

  • Handling a tetraplegic sports injury case involving a young student participating in a school activity, claiming around HK$70 million with issues on double insurance. Successfully settling the claim at mediation.
  • Handling large volumes of employees’ compensation, employer’s liability and third party liability claims, using a systemic approach to deliver fast and costs effective services.
  • Successfully defending a claim at trial for injuries suffered while playing water volleyball with friends during a vacation.
  • Representing a major gym service provider and large entertainment club in Hong Kong on liability claims of all aspects, from simple slip-and-fall accidents to catastrophic accidents.
