Kennedys' mock mediation

We are delighted to be hosting our mock mediation taking place on Tuesday 8 October 2024 at The Gallery, Manchester Hall.

This in-person, interactive mock mediation will address recent key legal and insurance developments in the construction PI space. The fictitious scenario relates to a claim by a disgruntled homeowner against her builder and professional team (architect and engineer) in relation to a multitude of defects to a newly built home which is now due to be demolished. The mock mediation will cover the following hot topics amongst others:

• The extended limitation periods under the Building Safety Act 2022; and the decision in URS v BDW[2023].
• The Defective Premises Act and its interaction with net contribution clauses following Vainker v Marbank[2024].
• Lendlease v AECOM[2023] and the overriding duty to act with reasonable skill and care.
