Christian Johnson is special counsel in the Seattle office. He represents insurance companies in aviation, maritime and complex coverage litigation, including coverage cases arising out of environmental, product liability, public entity liability, medical malpractice and bodily injury claims.

Christian has experience representing public and private entities (including domestic and international airlines, air traffic control companies, military contractors and shipping companies) in litigation involving premise liability, wrongful death, products liability and general negligence claims.  In particular, Christian has extensive experience handling complex wrongful death litigation involving aviation and maritime-related accidents and collisions, including claims involving sophisticated military products and weapon systems installed on military aircraft. His significant experience litigating claims for the above entities has provided him with the ability to effectively handle all aspects of litigation, while also enabling him to evaluate coverage issues from a unique perspective. Christian works closely with clients to provide cost-effective recommendations and advice.

Christian previously obtained his J.D. from Tulane University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. Thereafter, he earned an LL.M. in Admiralty and Maritime Law from Tulane University School of Law, where he graduated with first-in-class honors and with distinction. While at Tulane, Christian received nine CALI awards for obtaining the top grade in nine classes, including every admiralty and maritime class offered at Tulane University School of Law at the time. He was also awarded the Edward A. Dodd Jr. award for achieving the highest grade point average in admiralty and maritime courses. After attending law school, he externed for three judges in New Orleans. Christian also worked for nine years at one of the largest insurance defense firms in the world.

Christian presently resides in Lake Oswego, Oregon with his wife and daughter.
