John Gibson

John joined Kennedys in March 2023 as motor services director, based in Manchester. John leads our non-injury offering to Kennedys’ motor liability clients. John’s role is non-legal and primarily market facing, focussing on product development, service delivery and innovation in the motor insurance sector.  

John has over 20 years’ experience in working with the leading UK motor insurers, re-insurers, brokers and self-insureds. He is one of the pre-eminent figures in the volume motor sector and has a particular focus on credit hire where he is a respected market leader. John advises clients on a broad spectrum of issues from market trends, claims inflation, insurer strategy, technological advances, process engineering, to changes in the regulatory and legislative landscape.

In his time in the industry,  he has led multi-award winning teams and has represented insurer clients in some of the leading test litigation in this area over the last decade.

John is regularly asked to speak at industry events and roundtables to provide context and opinion for the insurance press, he regularly advises industry bodies such as the ABI on matters such as the Competition and Markets Authority investigation into the UK motor insurance market.
