Rekha Cooke is a partner in Kennedys’ London office, specialising in high-value disputes and regulatory investigations in the financial services sector.
She has extensive experience defending claims against financial institutions and financial professionals, including asset, fund and investment managers, IFAs, appointed representative networks and pension administrators, in both court proceedings and at the FOS (including successful judicial review applications).
Rekha regularly advises firms facing regulatory scrutiny, particularly in investigations by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), including Skilled Person Reviews under section 166 FSMA and Past Business Reviews. She advises clients on managing mis-selling exposures and has designed and implemented FCA-mandated redress and remediation programmes in response to large-scale regulatory or compliance issues.
Her litigation practice also includes acting for company directors in complex high-value commercial disputes. Recent highlights include defending directors in court proceedings involving alleged wrongful trading, breaches of directors’ duties and fraud.
Rekha also advises London Market insurers on complex coverage issues under financial institutions, directors and officers, and professional indemnity policies.
