Profile

Chris is a senior associate in the tax disputes and investigations practice. Having trained at a top 25 law firm, Chris has almost 10 years’ experience of working for the “big 4” and city law firms.

He advises corporate and private clients both domestically and internationally across the full spectrum of non-contentious and contentious tax matters. Chris has the expertise and capabilities to advise clients in respect of both direct and indirect tax matters. He regularly advises large domestic and global clients in respect of their tax disputes with HMRC and assists them with corporate acquisitions by negotiating problematic tax issues identified as part of the deal process.

As well as his tax capabilities, Chris also has significant experience in advising clients on wider financial crime related issues including anti-money laundering, the proceeds of crime and bribery and corruption.

Chris has a particular specialism in tax litigation and defending criminal prosecutions. However, he is also known for his sound crisis management skills and ability to devise alternative dispute resolution strategies to enable the completion of a corporate acquisition or to avoid litigation.
