Nate is a partner in the Chicago office and focuses his practice on insurance-related litigation. He has experience representing clients across a wide range of civil litigation matters, including employment, personal injury, construction liability, product liability, premises liability, toxic torts, accounting malpractice, commercial transportation and defense of D&O claims. 

Nate regularly represents and defends directors and officers in derivative, direct and non-shareholder lawsuits. He recently represented the directors and officers of a large company in a non-shareholder lawsuit brought by creditors alleging they had been harmed by the directors’ and officers’ actions. Nate also has experience representing employers in single-plaintiff employment matters, including claims involving wrongful discharge, retaliation, discrimination and sexual harassment.

As part of his practice, Nate is involved in all aspects of litigation from discovery through trial. In addition to his defense practice, he has experience representing and counseling insurance companies in litigation and disputes involving insurance coverage issues, as well as handling complex commercial transactions.

Nate also contributed to the Claims inflation and personal injury claims: a global review report, published in June 2023.

Work highlights

  • Secured a favorable settlement on behalf of a client as part of a $9 million global resolution of claims stemming from a catastrophic accident in Chicago involving multiple liable parties.
