Michael Peterson is special counsel in the Chicago office and focuses his practice primarily on defense litigation matters from discovery through trial. Michael is licensed to practice in Illinois state courts and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Through his career, Michael has gained experience successfully representing clients in all manner of civil litigation, including products liability, construction liability, premises liability, medical malpractice, transportation liability, landlord-tenant disputes, property damage, subrogation and personal injury. He has tried numerous high-value cases to verdict in a variety of complex personal injury matters. He has consulted and represented small business clients in contract negotiations and implementing data protection and privacy policies.

During his time at DePaul University College of Law, Michael gained early trial experience under Rule 711, permitting him to argue motions and second-chair trials with the Law Office of the Cook County Public Defender.
