Rachel Smythe
Profile
Rachel is a senior associate and joined Kennedys in 2015. She has 10 years’ experience defending personal injury claims for insurers and leads a motor liability team for a significant UK insurer. She is known to her clients as an approachable key contact for practical, accessible advice, which strengthens their business through the ‘hands on’ training of their internal staff.
She has a wide variety of litigation experience from MOJ claims to large loss Multi track claims. Her case load consists of Mid Loss motor litigation containing mild brain injuries, serious and permanent orthopaedic injuries and significant psychological disorders.
Rachel’s focus when dealing with such claims is to provide a thorough analysis and tactical review to enable commercial settlement proposals to be made at the earliest opportunity where appropriate. Her early consideration of potentially exaggerated claims also assists her clients in making informed tactical decisions. In cases not suitable for settlement prior to trial, and in significant liability disputes, Rachel’s thorough approach yields positive results for her insurer clients.
Rachel has also been heavily involved in the development and advancements of Kennedys’ own claims management system. She is regularly involved with internal and external bespoke training programmes and hosting motor webinars for clients.
