We are thrilled to announce that Suzanne Liversidge has been named in The Lawyer’s Hot 100 list for 2020.
Suzanne, who was appointed as our first global managing partner in August, is featured within the publication’s annual list which gathers together the profession’s brightest stars. The Hot 100 includes the general counsels redefining what it means to be an in-house lawyer, the barristers working on the most significant cases of the moment; the rising stars of private practice; the disruptors forging the future of the profession; and the leaders taking their firms to new heights.
Anyone who encounters Suzanne knows she brings boundless energy and enthusiasm to her work
The summary of Suzanne’s inclusion in The Hot 100 is as follows:
"As the legal market continues its belated drive to improve gender equality, Kennedys’ Suzanne Liversidge played her part in 2019 by becoming the first female global managing partner to take charge of a UK top 30 law firm.
"However, this was just the second gender-related first in her career. Liversidge had previously become the first woman to be named president of Sheffield’s Chamber of Commerce in its 242-year history.
"Liversidge joined Kennedys just under 10 years ago, taking pride in being head of office in her native Sheffield as what she calls a “pure northern girl”. During her time in the Steel City, she helped to launch the office with one other person, subsequently expanding it to a total of 135 staff.
"Since her summer appointment to the top job, Liversidge has switched Sheffield for the likes of Rio and Miami, as she seeks to make her presence felt in Kennedys’ 38 offices around the world. She admits it was a tricky transition away from her hometown base, but she has comfortably settled into her new role and is confident she will build on last year’s record turnover and deliver continued growth."
Those that appear in this year’s Hot 100 are described as ‘shaping the legal profession right now; though many already have a distinguished career behind them, no one is included because of past glories’.
Commenting on Suzanne's inclusion in The Hot 100, Kennedys' Senior Partner, Nick Thomas, says: “I am delighted to see that Suzanne has been named in ‘The Lawyer’s Hot 100’ list this year. Anyone who encounters Suzanne knows she brings boundless energy and enthusiasm to her work, and it is great to see that her efforts are already being recognised in the legal market and among clients.”
