Aviva has announced the conclusion of the first comprehensive review of its defendant legal panel in 10 years.
Following a strategic review of its current nine-member panel, Aviva has appointed a core panel of four firms, including Kennedys, to lead claims legal work on all of Aviva’s UK general insurance legal requirements within England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and wider global needs where required. The other firms appointed alongside Kennedys, on a three-year contract, are Clyde & Co, DAC Beachcroft and DWF.
The new legal panel is part of a more strategic approach to Aviva’s general insurance claims legal work. The streamlined core panel will cover a wide range of defendant legal claims in personal lines, commercial lines and GCS, covering motor, property, liability, fraud and major losses.
Commenting on the appointment, Mark Burton, partner, Kennedys, said: “We are delighted that we have been successful in Aviva’s legal panel review and that we are strengthening our existing strategic partnership. We are looking forward to continuing to support Aviva and its customers across their lines of business.”
Suzanne Liversidge, global managing partner and client board representative, Kennedys said: “This is a fantastic start to 2023. The team at Kennedys has been working hard over a number of years to build our relationship with the team at Aviva. It was an incredibly competitive pitch and as you can imagine we’re delighted to have been appointed.”
