We have successfully completed our move into new premises in Birmingham, now located in the heart of the city at the prestigious Colmore Building.
Kennedys established its Birmingham office in 2008, with an initial team of six. Since then, the office has expanded to a team of 108, including 12 partners. The Birmingham office serves key local and international clients, with expert insurance teams specialising in healthcare, professional liability, motor, employers’ liability, public liability, property, energy, construction and Local Authority claims.
Commenting on the move, lead partner in Birmingham Eamon Mooney says: “This new space reiterates Kennedys' commitment to the Birmingham market, home to the largest Insurance Institute outside of London. We are excited to offer a contemporary environment for colleagues that accommodates hybrid working and also serves as a central, welcoming location for our clients.”
The office features new flexible breakout areas to support both collaborative working and individual focus work, in addition to amenities including health and wellness services. The Colmore Building is rated as excellent by BREEAM, the Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method, with one hundred percent of the building’s electricity coming from renewable resources.
As part of the firm’s partnership with Every Child Online, the Birmingham move saw nearly 400 pieces of IT equipment (including desktop PC’s monitors and TV screens) donated to children and young adults across the United Kingdom. Refurbished devices are distributed to schools, clubs, community groups, refugee centres, local councils and charities supporting under-resourced children and young adults. Kennedys remains committed to supporting Every Child Online’s mission to bridge the digital divide, one device at a time, to empower children and young adults to reach their full potential in the digital age.
Over the past year, the team in Birmingham has achieved notable success, with motor and personal injury specialist Sandip Sidhu promoted to partner in the firm’s annual promotions round. Additionally, Steven Sehmar, Chanelle Marcella-Wint and Kerri Merrick advanced to senior associate.
