FAQs – Training contracts

Our two-year training contract allows you to develop relevant experience and skills that will set you up in your career as a solicitor. During your training contract, you’ll complete four six-month seats in different teams across our core practice areas of insurance and reinsurance, liability and commercial.

FAQs

What are the requirements for a training contract?

We look for candidates that have either studied law and the Legal Practice Course (LPC) or have a non-law degree and a law conversion course (GDL/PGDL) and the LPC.

What is the recruitment process for a training contract?

You will be asked to complete an online application form, online situational strengths assessment, video interview and an assessment day.

Which offices are recruiting for the training contract?

Our Edinburgh, Hong Kong, Leeds, London, Manchester, Singapore and our Taunton offices.

Do you sponsor future trainees during the PGDL and LPC?

Yes! We sponsor both the PGDL and LPC for future trainees as well as providing a maintenance grant during these study periods.

How many trainees do Kennedys have globally?

We currently have over 70 trainees across 15 offices globally.

How many roles do Kennedys recruit for each year and where?

We recruit around 20 trainees each year across our UK offices. We currently have 11 opportunities available for our 2022 SQE programme across our UK offices.

Do you recruit on a rolling basis for your training contracts?

We review all applications once the deadline closes on 31 December 2021.
