Domarena is an associate in our Insurance team, with particular focus on insurance and marine matters. Domarena’s areas of expertise include casualty - including public and product liability, motor liability, and occupiers liability, as well as transport claims including marine insurance.

Domarena advises domestic and international insurers on coverage claims on a broad range of matters involving general liability, motor vehicle, property and marine policies – including advisory on cargo, hull and transportation claims. She is involved as subrogated counsel in advancing and defending litigated and non-litigated matters across the marine and transport space, including acting on behalf of cargo interests, freight forwarders and NVOCCs, in recovery claims and in the class action space. 

Domarena obtained her Bachelor of Arts with a Degree of Law (Majoring in International Law and Global Governance) at Macquarie University in Sydney 2020. Domarena was admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW in March 2021.

Presentations and publications

  • Assisted in high profile defamation proceedings against an Australian publishing company in the Federal Court of Australia. The publications related to the ‘Deep Sleep Therapy’ regime at Chelmsford Private Hospital and the 1988 Royal Commission into Mental Health Services.
  • Advising on issues of liability in Marine Cargo Recovery claims.
  • Assisting in matters in respect of claims arising from personal injury and professional indemnity as against property managers and construction professionals.
