Hannah is a Senior Associate & Solicitor Advocate in our Financial Lines team and works out of our London and Manchester offices.

Hannah advises insurers and reinsurers in relation to complex coverage and monitoring issues, with a focus on financial lines, professional indemnity, directors’ and officers’ liability (D&O) and commercial crime. Hannah also acts on behalf of insurers and insureds on a range of complex and high-value claims against D&Os and professionals, including accountants and solicitors. Such expertise includes a broad range of dispute resolution in the UK and overseas.

Hannah also has extensive experience representing insurers and their insureds in the construction and energy industries - primarily the defence of contractors, engineers, architects, surveyors and project managers, often with cross-jurisdictional elements.

Hannah’s extensive experience in the London insurance market has included two secondments at a top-five insurance broker and a leading worldwide insurer.

Hannah is a representative for the Forum of Insurance Lawyers’ (FOIL) D&O sub-committee.

Qualifications

  • Qualified in England and Wales in 2012
  • Qualified as a Solicitor Advocate in 2014
  • Qualified in Northern Ireland in 2018

  • Defending one of the leading privately owned construction and civil engineering companies in the UK in respect of a £3 million claim regarding the construction of a flagship hotel in Belfast.
  • Advising an engineering company on a £30 million claim regarding defective wind turbine foundations in Scotland.
  • Representing a design and construct company in relation to the defective design of a wind turbine foundation across six wind farm sites in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
  • Advised an independent oil company on coverage issues in relation to its very substantial property damage and loss of production income claim following damage to a platform in the North Sea.
