Robin is a Legal Director in Kennedys’ London office.

Robin joined Kennedys in 2012 from Addleshaw Goddard, where he primarily advised the firm’s large corporate policyholder clients on coverage issues. Prior to that he worked in the Latin American department of Clyde & Co.

He specialises in the  financial institutions, pharmaceutical, energy,  construction and reinsurance industries, with focus on crime and professional indemnity, product liability (including Bermuda Form), general liability, environmental cover and directors’ and officers’ liability.

Clients include many of the major UK, Bermudian, German and Swiss insurers and reinsurers.

Robin has extensive experience of complex multiparty litigation and arbitration and has acted in several well-known insurance cases, including Standard Life v Ace European Group and others [2012], Enterprise Oil v Strand Insurance Company [2006] and Brotherton v Aseguradora Colseguros SA [2003].

Recent work includes advising insurance and reinsurance markets in relation to opioids claims, PFAS claims, covid-related claims, the cum/ex tax scandal in Germany and financial mis-selling claims.

Robin is a fluent German, French and Spanish speaker. Much of his work involves advising German insurers. He is treasurer of the British German Jurists’ Association. He is also a member of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL).
