- Instructed to defend an insurer’s discrete interests in relation to SBM’s total claim against the market of US$1.3bn following the abandonment of the YME Mopustor construction project in the Norwegian Sea. The matter is currently in litigation in the Commercial Court in London.
- Advising a large market of insurers in relation to the successful recovery of combined losses in excess of £500m following damage and business interruption losses sustained by their policyholders as a consequence of the Buncefield explosion and more recently in relation to the 2015 Tianjin explosion.
- Advising insurers on aggregation issues in relation to a major retailer’s claims exceeding £100m arising out of the 2011 Thai floods. The swift and successful collaboration between the insurer and policyholder in relation to the claim resulted in them receiving the Major Loss of the Year award at the British Insurance Awards.
- Advising the insurers of multiple UK retailers in relation to the recovery of their losses at hundreds of locations following the 2011 UK riots.
- Advising the market on major mining losses including in relation to a furnace loss at the Koniambo nickel mine in New Caledonia and a SAG mill failure at the Collahuasi copper mine in Chile.
