Lynn is a legal director in Kennedys’ Dublin office and trained at Kennedys prior to qualifying as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1998 and joining the London healthcare team. She specialises in defending all types of clinical negligence claims and has represented all parts of the defendant clinical negligence market, including medical malpractice insurers, medical defence organisations and NHS Resolution.  

Lynn has represented NHS Resolution in relation to a wide variety of clinical negligence claims including fatal claims, high value birth injury and neurological claims. Lynn is a specialist in managing maximum severity claims.

Lynn has also acted as advocate on behalf of NHS Trusts at inquests; sat on ethics committees and lectured extensively to members of the medical profession and in-house legal teams on issues of consent, human rights, mental health issues, data protection and record keeping.

Whilst taking time off to manage her family, Lynn was a Healthcare Consultant for Kennedys, advising NHS Resolution on liability, risk and strategy on all types of claims before becoming a legal director in the Dublin office, where she now supervises the healthcare team.

Lynn has also represented various private healthcare providers in respect of dental, osteopathic and chiropractic injury claims. Lynn also has extensive experience in representing healthcare professionals before their regulatory bodies.  

She is a member of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL); Royal Society of Medicine; Royal Academy of Medicine, Ireland; and is an honorary member of the British Chiropractic Association (BCA).

Lynn was awarded honorary membership of the BCA for legal services to its profession (2011).               

Work highlights

  • Lynn was the sole solicitor appointed by the BCA to represent over 700 of its members in respect of complaints brought by its governing body, the General Chiropractic Council (GCC), for claims of unacceptable professional conduct of misleading the public and exploiting lack of knowledge over health matters. The GCC brought fitness to practice hearings on a scale previously unseen in the healthcare regulatory world and Lynn successfully secured dismissal of over 91% of all cases.
