- Securing and enforcing a number of anti-suit and other prohibitive injunctions on behalf of insurers and reinsurers.
- Acted for insurers, in the Commercial Court, in Société Générale v. Württembergische Versicherung AG & Ors  EWHC 3112 (Comm), which concerned an insurance claim for US$487m in respect of the alleged misappropriation of approximately 15 metric tonnes of gold bullion.
- Defending a fund administrator in multi-party declaratory relief proceedings in the Commercial Court arising from the issue of €30 million loan notes to a Luxembourg fund.
- Advising reinsurers on policy coverage issues in relation to business interruption claims arising out of COVID-19.
Laura is a legal director in Kennedys London office and a member of the complex casualty coverage team having qualified in 2008 before joining Kennedys in 2017.
Laura acts for insurer and reinsurer clients on complex, high value and often multi-jurisdictional coverage disputes across a wide range of classes of insurance and reinsurance business including casualty (including product liability and recall), property, fine art and specie, political risk and trade credit and brokers’ negligence.
Laura also acts for commercial clients in contractual and tortious disputes including cases involving fraud.
Laura has acted for individuals and companies in the London market in relation to Lloyd’s inquiries, disciplinary proceedings and other London Market regulatory issues as well as employment matters where they concern the movement of individuals or teams within the market.
Laura’s recent experience has included advising insurers and reinsurers on coverage issues in relation to COVID-19.
