Profile

With over 25 years experience, Will acts for major insurers and self-insured companies in the defence of employers’, public and product liability claims.

During his career Will has dealt with a huge variety of cases, developing particular expertise in multi-party construction related injury claims, stress and harassment actions and property damage claims involving fire, flood and subsidence.

Although experienced in dealing with claims of varying sizes, Will now tends to focus more on higher value and complex cases often involving fatalities or catastrophic losses arising from spinal injuries, brain and psychiatric damage and chronic regional pain syndrome. He also takes a keen interest in policy interpretation and coverage disputes, enjoying the technical challenges this area of law presents.

With one eye firmly on the overall cost of a claim, Will has received praise for his proactive, pragmatic but thorough approach. He likes to get to the heart of a case as quickly as possible, settling early and economically where the circumstances require or building a defence based on detailed and comprehensive evidence where early settlement is not merited or possible.

He is often asked to produce articles and comment for legal and insurance publications and is frequently requested to deliver training to insurer clients. His sessions have covered numerous topics including fatal accident claims, policy coverage and the assessment of damages, including future loss claims incorporating the Ogden tables.
