Profile

Tom acts for a number of major insurers and self-retained companies dealing with a full range of employers’ and public liability claims.

He deals with fatal accident claims and catastrophic injury claims including those involving spinal injuries, brain injuries, complex regional pain syndrome and alleged psychiatric injuries. He also has expertise in Animals Act claims and workplace stress claims, including those with alleged sexual harassment.

Away from personal injury claims, Tom acts in multi-party construction related disputes and high-value property damage claims involving fire, flood and asbestos contamination. He also advises insurer clients in relation to policy interpretation and coverage disputes.

Tom has a particular interest in representing defendants subject to insolvency proceedings, whether that be administration, liquidation or once finally dissolved.

Tom is valued by his clients for his sympathy with their overall claims philosophy and his commercial nous, recognising at an early stage which claims are to be fought and which are to be settled.
