Kennedys celebrates diversity with Link

This month we proudly hosted the Link Summer Party for the fifth consecutive year at our London office.

Attended by over 100 guests from the insurance sector, the evening was opened with a welcoming address by Matt Deaville, a Link committee member and Partner in our London office. It was extremely pleasing to see the event so well attended, including LGBT+ people, as well as a lot of allies.

Link is a LGBT+ networking organisation whose mission is to create and maintain workplaces that attract and retain the best LGBT+ talent to the insurance industry.

The co-Chair of Link, Theresa Farrenson, gave a round-up of the work they have been doing in recent months, to include the largest ever participation in London Pride, events that have been taking place because of "Link Up North" as well as Link’s incredibly successful involvement in Student Pride, with a view to encouraging the next generation to enter the profession.

There were also speeches from Monty Moncrieff MBE and Simon Marks, both of London Friend (the charity being supported by ticket sales), who spoke about their work and the support they give to those in the community suffering from drug and alcohol abuse, and mental health issues.

All of the talks were a wonderful catalyst to allow people to have some interesting discussions and for some great networking to take place.

At Kennedys we have a distinctive culture that makes us a successful firm where people enjoy coming to work and underpinning our values is our involvement in events, such as these, that celebrate diversity and inclusion within the sectors in which we operate.

Earlier this year we confirmed that we are the official gold level global partner for this year’s Inclusion@Lloyd’s Dive In Festival, which aims to engage and educate people within the Lloyd’s market on the importance of diversity and inclusion in insurance by providing people with understanding, knowledge and the tools to implement positive change.

The Festival, now in its fourth year, takes place between 25-27 September in 27 countries and reaching more than 50 cities, many in which we have a presence.
