Eleanor is a legal director in the professional liability team, based in London.
She has extensive experience of professional liability matters across the whole spectrum of professionals including niche professions. Her primary focus is on representing accountants, auditors, actuaries, solicitors and their insurers. She advises on PI coverage, professional liability claims, risk management, and has acted directly for accountants on disciplinary investigations and associated regulatory issues.
Eleanor has significant experience of conducting high value and complex, multi-party court proceedings and has a particular interest in complex procedural issues faced by clients. She has also dealt with significant matters via arbitration and settled many cases via Alternative Dispute Resolution, including mediation.

- Acted for the Accountants’ Assigned Risks Pool in the successful defence of a complex coverage case in the High Court, coordinating with 66 participating insurers in the London market in relation to year of attachment point. Secured discontinuance.
- Acted for the Accountants’ Assigned Risks Pool in the defence of a £multimillion coverage dispute brought by c.169 claimants in the Circuit Commercial Court.
- Acted on a £7m complex auditors’ negligence in the High Court arising from a series of significant frauds committed by a partner in a law firm.
- Acted for accountants in a claim for negligent tax advice. Claim significantly reduced with limitation arguments.
- Defending various accounting and actuarial professionals under investigation by their regulators, including the ICAEW and IFOA.
