Simon is a partner in Kennedys’ Bermuda office and has a wealth of experience in the field of banking and finance. His practice encompasses all areas of banking, finance, and corporate law, with a specialty focus on banking and commercial law.

Simon acts for a number of banks and other financial institutions in Bermuda, representing them in Bermuda and internationally in a number of complex multijurisdictional transactions. He has advised on several major infrastructure projects in Bermuda and overseas, including the first commercial scale solar development located adjacent to Bermuda International Airport, Bermuda’s first PPP financing, and the financing, sale, and purchase of several major hotel developments.

Prior to joining Kennedys, Simon led a Bermuda-based boutique corporate and finance practice that focused on banking, acquisitions and dispositions and corporate and commercial law. He also served as counsel at a large M&A firm in Bermuda and a partner at a global firm's Budapest office in 2007 to 2008.

Simon qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1996 and worked in the City of London for many years before moving to Bermuda in 2005. Simon was admitted to the Bermuda Bar in 2006 and as a solicitor in the BVI in 2005.

Simon is also a member of the Banks and Deposit Companies Act – Appeals Tribunal.

  • Advising the Bermuda Government in respect of the development of Bermuda’s first commercial scale solar facility adjacent to the Bermuda LF Wade International Airport
  • Advising a syndicate of lenders in connection with the financing of the redevelopment of one of the largest hotels in Bermuda
  • Advising in connection with the closure during the COVID 19 pandemic of a major hotel and resort and its subsequent sale to an overseas hotel operator
