Kennedys IQ, the newly launched technology company, has appointed Chris Stubbs as a Product Manager.
Chris, who was previously head of investigation services at Kennedys Law LLP (Kennedys) and is a former winner of the firm’s renowned Ideas Lab, will spearhead the next stage of the businesses’ IQ Platform.
IQ Platform is a claims management system with advanced features that include incident management, fraud detection, portal management for UK personal injury claims, litigation management, settlement and recovery. Chris will take charge of Portal Manager, the latest product built on the IQ Platform. Portal Manager is a claims management system designed to help compensators to manage claims from the point they are lodged in the Ministry of Justice Claims Portal through to their successful conclusion, using innovative approaches to reducing claims lifecycle times and assessing damages.
Chris will also be working closely with Kennedys IQ product and innovation director Karim Derrick on IQ’s flagship innovation project, SmartClaims which has behind it a world-class consortia of lawyers, product, data and claims specialists assembled to explore the application of the latest data and text processing technologies to facilitate optimal liability decisions and to reduce client costs and indemnity spend.
Prior to moving to Kennedys IQ, Chris spent nine years working for Kennedys where he supported the counter fraud team in designing the Fraud Detector software, which is now part of the IQ platform, and in building an industry leading investigation services team.
Kennedys IQ product and innovation director, Karim Derrick, said of Chris’ appointment: “Chris has innovation running through his veins. Not only did he win Kennedys’ Ideas Lab last year, he also won Kennedys’ first Innovator of the Year award for a claims automation idea that was the basis for a government grant-funded project aimed at disrupting claims handling.”
“As clients are starting to realise the benefits of how legal services and tech can be leveraged, they are increasingly looking to us to fulfil their needs having been poorly served by incumbent technology providers to date. Hence, bringing Chris across to Kennedys IQ is really going to enhance our offering.”
Commenting on his new role, Chris said: “The Kennedys Ideas Lab and the subsequent launch of Kennedys IQ in February 2020 has opened up a career path that a traditional law firm LLP structure could not provide. I have always looked to technology to solve client problems and I am looking forward to taking this to a whole new level via Kennedys IQ.”
Kennedys IQ was launched in February this year. Combining human and machine intelligence, Kennedys IQ focuses on product development targeted at the needs of clients, and recognises that the future of legal services is not just about legal advice.
In April, Kimberley Davies joined the business, from Luminance Technologies, as commercial development manager.
Kennedys recently won the 'Innovation in strategy and digital transformation award' for Kennedys IQ at The FT Innovative Lawyers' Europe Awards 2020.
