Louise is a Document Production Assistant, working at home full time, within our Secretarial team.
Morning
Before I start work, I drop my son off at Breakfast Club at school at 7.30am, I then walk my Husky, who does love a walk! I work from home on a permanent basis, so I go back home to start my day. I chose to apply for a role that is home-based as it offered me a good work/life balance and I am able to balance work and motherhood.
9:00
My day starts by checking my emails from the previous evening. As we work for a number of offices, in different time zones, we quite often have emails coming through overnight.
9:30
I then check the team’s inbox for outstanding work and then check what we have outstanding in our digital dictation system, Bighand, to prioritise the work.
10:00
Our workload consists of 70% typing from all different regions around the world. One day I could be working for one of our London teams, or then jumping across the other side of the world to work for Sydney. This does give a variety of different work types across the globe and allows me to extend my skillset. This ensures that I provide a good quality service and enables me to provide continued support to the lawyers across the business.
11:00
At this time I come away from the computer screen and make myself a cup of coffee.
13:00
Lunchtime, but as I am at home, I make myself lunch. I sometimes watch a bit of TV, or put a load of washing on.
15:00
We have quite a lot of urgent things coming through this time of the day, so this is our busier period.
17:00
I finish work at 5pm and then it is time to go and pick my son up from his After School Club and then cook dinner.
