Key Client Data Product & Services Lead, Sian Harris, based in Chelmsford, was recently named a finalist at the Totum Rising Star Awards 2024. Sian joined our Business Intelligence Team as a reporting analyst in 2017. During this time, she has been on a secondment to Hong Kong to help set up the APAC reporting function and now works with our key clients to ensure we are delivering competitive data products and services. We spoke to Sian about the best advice she’s been given in her career so far and the best thing about being a Key Client Data Product & Services Lead at Kennedys.

Q&A
How did you come to work in finance and what is the best thing about your job?
The best thing about my job is meeting and collaborating with colleagues and being given the opportunity to explore new ideas.
I fell into finance, I have an Administrative background and when I joined Kennedys the Business Intelligence (BI) team was not part of finance. Being under Finance has provided an encouraging environment for showcasing the team's work and aspirations.
How has Kennedys supported your career and development?
I have been given opportunities to work on projects and with different teams to gain a winder experience which has supported my career progression. The support and guidance I have received both from within my team and outside the team has been crucial in helping me with my own development.
What’s been your career highlight to date?
Being seconded to Hong Kong, which allowed me to meet with oversea colleagues and understand needs and different approaches in other locations. The secondment supplied an opportunity to travel around parts of Asia, which I otherwise would not have done at that stage.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t be afraid to raise your ideas, this gave me the courage to speak up when I had something to contribute and has helped improve my confidence.
