Eridania Perez is special counsel in the New York office. She has nearly two decades of experience representing major insurance and reinsurance companies in high stake litigation and arbitrations involving general liability , property and casualty, and professional liability lines and life insurance. She has successfully litigated and arbitrated a wide range of reinsurance and insurance disputes involving allocation, trigger of coverage, contribution and other issues.

Eridania’s practice also focuses on commercial litigation and international arbitration. She has tried cases in US state and federal courts and arbitrated cases under institutional and ad hoc arbitrations involving complex contractual disputes, fraud and misrepresentation claims, intentional torts, and breaches of warranties, among others.

Eridania regularly advises US and non-US multinationals regarding defense and strategy in potential US litigation and international arbitration proceedings involving civil and common law issues. She has also partnered with in-house legal departments for Fortune 100 and 500 companies to develop valuable processes for monitoring outside counsel and litigation status.

Prior to joining Kennedys, Eridania was a partner at an international AmLaw 200 firm where she managed complex client matters from inception to completion, including establishing budget, selecting and supervising teams, developing strategy and communications with clients, routinely interfacing with executive management on case strategy and risk mitigation.

Eridania has been recognized as a “first rate” and “excellent lawyer with an absolute client focus…accurate work even when under high pressure” by the Legal 500, among other recognitions.

A prolific writer and speaker, Eridania has touched on a range of topics including contractual issues arising from claim handling clauses, confidentiality in international arbitration, Brazil’s insurance regulatory agency regulations, how to make mediation work for your client, the art of designing reinsurance contracts and programs, and follow the fortunes, among others.
