Kennedys' highly regarded global construction team provides specialist advice on construction, engineering and process engineering matters. We advise on both contentious and non-contentious matters. We advise and support clients throughout Europe, Asia Pacific, the Americas and the Middle East.

For contentious matters we advise insurers and insureds, employers, contractors, developers, funders and consultants on contractual risk & insurance issues. We have significant experience in all forms of dispute resolution and our client’s commercial requirements are the focus of our no-nonsense advice.
For non-contentious matters we assist clients to develop procurement strategies and to analyses and consider the allocation of construction risk. We draft and negotiate all resulting project documentation including security documents where required.
In addition to general construction and civil engineering works, we also have significant experience in the oil, gas, energy, utilities and infrastructure industries.
2021 proved to be a particularly challenging year for the construction industry hampered by the pandemic, Brexit and climate related risks. In spite of this, UK construction output rose 1.4% in January 2022 month-on-month, hitting its highest level since September 2019. We provide an overview of the business critical topics for the construction sector and insurers including ESG risks, disruptive technology and supply chain impacts.
