Stephanie is a Legal Director in Kennedys’ London office. She joined Kennedys in 2013 and has many years’ specialist regulatory defence experience.
Stephanie has extensive and diverse experience dealing with a wide range of regulatory issues including health, safety and environmental, food standards and fire safety.
Stephanie advises on both contentious and non-contentious regulatory matters, with a particular specialism in health, safety and environmental investigations and prosecutions conducted by the police/Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the Environment Agenda (EA) and other regulatory bodies. She also has extensive experience representing companies and individuals at inquests.
Examples of the types of organisations that Stephanie has acted for include private companies (from small businesses to multimillion pound turnover plcs), joint ventures, local authorities, NHS trusts and fire and rescue services. Stephanie also acts for directors and other individuals who might need assistance or representation in relation to a criminal regulatory investigation.
Stephanie has acted on two of the most high-profile HSE/EA investigations and prosecutions of the last 10 years and is able to provide crisis management advice and support to businesses and individuals in the aftermath of a serious incident.
Stephanie is a member of the Health and Safety Lawyers’ Association and the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL). She regularly delivers training to clients, presents at Kennedys’ seminars and writes articles on recent legal developments. She is an author of Kennedys’ Claims Handling Law and Practice Guide, the fourth edition of which was published in February 2021.
