Employer Vaccination Policies – How to avoid claims and retain staff
The COVID-19 vaccination programme in Hong Kong has had only a limited take up. As it stands, only 23.4% of the population has been fully vaccinated. Whilst many employers are keen to incentivise their employees to get vaccinated, this raises both ethical and legal questions.
This webinar will focus on the potential legal issues for employers and employees arising from the vaccine rollout. We will consider common questions such as:
- Can an employer require their employees to be vaccinated?
- Should an employer have a vaccine policy in place?
- Can an employer impose less favourable treatment on employees who choose not to be vaccinated?
- Can an employer reward employees who do get vaccinated?
We will also look to other countries with higher vaccination rates, to consider if employers there have imposed compulsory vaccination as a requirement for ongoing employment and the lessons to be learned.
CPD points have been applied for and, if approved, will be accredited by The Law Society of Hong Kong.
