Dive In Festival 2020 - Systemic Segregation & Violence: the impact on our most underserved communities
We are very pleased to once again be a global partner of Dive in, the international festival for diversity and inclusion in insurance.
As a local festival partner in Chicago, Kennedys has been involved in the organisation of the viewing of the film Chicago at the Crossroad followed by a discussion with anti-racism thought-leaders, community activists, academics and policy-changers.
Chicago remains one of the most segregated and violent cities in our country, and it's not by happenstance. We will examine the root causes of this devastating cycle of poverty and violence in Chicago's segregated communities in Chicago at the Crossroad. This award-winning 2019 film breaks down "the systems that created, the laws that isolated and the policies that abandoned" segregation in our city. Building off of this conversation, our panellists will share stories and identify actions that we can each take today to make a difference in our communities. For Chicago is but a cautionary tale to other cities. As Crossroads warns: "Many large metropolitan areas may be heading down the same path. Chicago is but a warning sign for all of us to heed." The time is NOW for us to take ACTION.
If you would like to ‘attend’, you must register your attendance on the Dive In Festival events portal.
