Catastrophic injury webinar
The future of care: is technology the answer?
We are delighted to be hosting our catastrophic injury webinar where we will be sharing the results of our international market research into the future of care.
Lifetime care costs are usually the main head of loss in any catastrophic injury claim. The traditional supply model of human carers can undoubtedly be effective, but is labour-intensive, expensive, and can be intrusive for those in need of intensive support who find their privacy curtailed.
That care model is also now threatened by radical societal changes, such as Brexit, the coronavirus pandemic, and technological alternatives. In a modern age where technology is revolutionising daily life, the care sector has so far been relatively slow to adopt such innovations.
In order to evaluate whether ‘care tech’ can truly help to deliver better future care outcomes, we have gained stakeholder insights from three core markets: the US, UK and Australia. In discussing the implications of the research, we will consider:
- The potential for wider adoption of emerging technologies.
- What steps can be taken to overcome barriers to greater use of health technology.
- The impact on compensators.
- How claims inflation can be potentially mitigated, including during an ongoing period of negative discount rates.
