We asked Pasquale Pontoriero, to give some insight into their role as a Partner in our Basking Ridge office and to give an idea of what it’s like working for a global law firm.

How has your career grown since starting at Kennedys?
I started out at CMK as a junior associate in 2008. I was a made a partner prior to the merger with Kennedys and have seen my responsibilities grow from there. I have been very fortunate to have great mentors at the firm over the years who have helped prepare me for the different challenges we face on a day to day basis. I now find myself playing the role of a mentor to others which I am happy to do.
What is your current role?
I am partner and the practice group leader for the insurance defense group in the Basking Ridge, NJ office.
What does a typical day at Kennedys look like for you?
We have a busy and fast paced practice, however, everyone makes time to collaborate and offer a second opinion when asked. As a result, I spend a lot of time interacting with colleagues within the firm because we have always stressed the importance of having an open door policy.
What is it like working for a global law firm?
We have a local presence with a global reach. I cannot take credit for coining that phrase but I think it is very true. We enjoy many of the positive aspects of a smaller firm while also having the benefits associated with being part of a global firm.
What is your favourite thing about working at Kennedys?
We have a great group of people. Coming to the office is much more enjoyable when you genuinely like the people you work with.
