Local authority webinar - building safety
This webinar has now taken place, but please complete our form if you would like to be sent a copy of the recording.
We are delighted to be hosting the fourth local authority webinar of our 2022 series on Tuesday 13 September in conjunction with ALARM.
The UK Government has taken significant steps to improve the fire and structural building safety regime over the past few years since the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower in June 2017. The recent introduction of the Building Safety Act 2022, in particular, represents an overhaul of building safety requirements and will introduce an entirely new prescriptive regulatory regime.
Danny McShee, Partner and Head of Kennedys’ Crime and Regulatory group, has been acting for one of the central organisations involved in the Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry. Danny will be providing an update on changes to the regulatory landscape and what local authorities need to be made aware of arising from the following:
- The Building Safety Act 2022
- The Fire Safety Act 2021
- The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022
