Mark is a Partner in our London office. He qualified in England and Wales in 1999 and is a leading defendant personal injury practitioner who chairs the firm’s catastrophic injury group.

Mark manages motor, employers’ and public liability claims, with a specialist focus on large loss and catastrophic injuries.

He handles cases of the utmost severity including brain and spinal injury, amputations, vegetative state or altered consciousness, polytrauma, brachial plexus injury, severe psychiatric injury, chronic pain and loss of senses.

Mark advises on issues including accommodation, fraudulent exaggeration, life expectancy, mental capacity, periodical payment orders, provisional damages, rehabilitation management and statutory care funding. He represents insurer signatories to the Serious Injury Guide.

His personal caseload comprises reserves of over £100 million at any one time, including international claims with overseas quantum issues and high-profile cases featured in the national press.

Mark regularly presents in the UK and abroad on a range of topics associated with complex claims. He is a co-author and editor of a number of publications, including the catastrophic injury chapter of Kennedys’ Claims Handling Law and Practice Guide, and our sector report ‘The future of care: is technology the answer?’.

Additionally, Mark is project sponsor for an online dispute resolution pilot that he presented to Lord Justice Briggs during the consultation phase of the Civil Courts Structure Review and was referenced in the final report.

He also has a diploma in French legal studies from the University of Limoges and can handle cases in French when required. He is a member of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL).
