Alex joined Kennedys as an Associate in 2021 and is based in the New York office. He serves as coverage counsel for insurers in first and third party property and commercial claims, following wildfires, hurricanes, and hailstorms. Alex has also represented numerous carriers in bad faith disputes and successfully defended insurers in matters across the U.S. at both the trial court and appellate levels.

Alex was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, where he obtained his first law degree. He then moved to Florida to obtain a juris doctor from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude. During law school, Alex was an active member of the Nova Law Review, served as a judicial intern in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit to the Honorable Sarah I. Zabel, and served as a Research Assistant for NSU’s Associate Dean for Library Services.

Work highlights

  • Counsels insurers on insurance coverage, claim adjustment, and contract interpretation on first party property and commercial claims following hurricanes, wildfires, hailstorms, civil unrest, coronavirus and other catastrophes.
  • Prevailed on an appeal involving a first-impression coverage issue surrounding the mortgage clause of a homeowner’s policy.
  • Secured a dismissal of a bad faith lawsuit in federal court following a contested appraisal procedure
