Harold B Malcolm is an Associate in the Miami Hub of Kennedys. He works with both the Latam Caribbean and the US teams. He qualified in Florida in April 2021 and in Jamaica in November 2008. Previously, he worked at a mid-sized insurance defense firm in Florida where he did First Party Property Law.
Harold earned a LLM in Human Rights Law (Merit) from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2010 and a LLM in Intercultural Human Rights Law(Salutatorian) from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. He studied at the University of the West Indies in both Jamaica and Barbados where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with Upper Second Class Honours and Masters of Arts degree in Law with First Class Honours. In 2000, he earned a MA degree in English from Clark University in Worcester MA. He also earned a JD degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2020 and has recently completed the JSD at St. Thomas University which will be formally awarded once he secures a book publishing contract.
Formerly, Harold served as an Advisor to the Government of Jamaica for approximately four years and was a board member of several government entities and non-profit organizations. He has also worked as an Associate at two law firms in Jamaica and as the Program Director of the Faculty of Law at the University of Technology, Jamaica. He has taught Human Rights Law, Administrative Law and Public International Law.
An avid reader, he likes various content but describes himself as lover of international news and history.
Over the years, Harold has received many scholarships and awards, including the 1994 Sir Alexander Bustamante Scholarship (National Hero of Jamaica), the 2009 British Chevening Scholarship and the Keithley Lake and Daniel Brantley Bursaries in 2007.
